Bring your big ideas and your fat pens and we will explore the art of hand drawing which is somewhat lost in today's world of CAD! The workshop will focus on the fast-paced designing of an area of Birmingham; we will have a go at creating mental maps and learn how to communicate clearly through drawing,design and graphics. Come along and learn how to use your pen as a talking stick!

A fun and fast moving event with presentations offering solutions to current problems; visionary and potentially wild ideas to improve towns and cities; plus our very own urban quiz.

Main streets used to be the most important, elegant, and fashionable parts of a town. The growth in vehicle traffic changed all that, bringing noise, pollution, severance and danger. They aslo brought the ugliness of traffic engineering, and a tendency to brutalise what were once fine streets with infrastructure that is wholly out of scale with the surrounding context.
