Cabe Design & Infrastructure Seminar

Tuesday 28 January 2014 - 17:00 to 19:00
Cabe @ Design Council, Angel Building, 407 St John St, London EC1V 4AB

Design is a great way to celebrate infrastructure and at this seminar Cabe will show how this can be achieved

To ensure that the UKs infrastructure can continue to support economic growth and boost economic efficiency, massive investment in national infrastructure is required. It is the lifeblood that keeps the nation running. On the other hand, planning, objections and policy issues make it more on more difficult to deliver the projects. Effective delivery requires well planned and managed public consultation.

There is a fantastic news story behind the big infrastructure projects about environmental processes, technical progress and sustainable lifestyles. Great design can be an effective way to bring infrastructure proposals to the heart of the community as many projects across the world have shown. Hear about how this has been achieved and how other projects deal with the challenge and how exciting facilities can be delivered on time and budget - and beloved by the community.

You will get insight into:

¢How to manage and overcome issues on viability with planners, developers and architects
¢How to approach viability from briefs to planning to construction
¢How to re-define and re-evaluate the profit margin
¢How design could help to achieve viability and longevity
¢What viability might mean in the future of the built environment
