Urban Design Dog Walk: Oxford (Bicester)

Led by Lauren Taylor, whose dissertation explored how dog-inclusive urban design enhances health, wellbeing and community life.

Did you know that more UK households now have a dog than have dependent children? Despite this, dogs are rarely considered as part of the urban design process, even though they influence how millions of people experience their neighbourhoods every single day.

Join the Urban Design Group for a relaxed dog walk in Bicester and Bucknell!

The walk will be hosted by Hannah Smart, Chair of the UDG, and Lauren Taylor, whose dissertation, The City Unleashed, received First Class marks and explored how dog-inclusive urban design can enhance health, wellbeing and community life.

We welcome everyone, whether you have a dog or not! Join us for a fun and insightful walk.

The Plan

- Meet up at 6pm @ the Trigger Pond (Bucknell)
A chance to say hello, meet fellow walkers (and their dogs!) before we set off.

- Walk and Talk to NW Bicester Eco Town.

- Questions, debate and observations are all encouraged.

- Optional post-walk coffee or drink

- If people fancy it, we'll continue the conversation afterwards at the Trigger Pond.

Bringing your dog? 

We'd love to meet them! Please ensure all dogs are well behaved, comfortable around people and other dogs, and kept on a lead throughout the walk so everyone can enjoy the event safely.

Hot weather: You know your pooch better than we do, so if it's a bit too warm for them, feel free to leave them at home. We'll still be delighted to see you!
