From their pop-up shop in the city centre Bath & North East Somerset Council will be hosting a series of free monthly training and design skills sessions open to local design and built environment professionals.

50 free hours of urban graphics skills is also available with support from the Urban Design Group and UCL School of Architecture & Planning.
Hand Drawing & Sketching for Urban Design: 5 - 6pm 11 August
The session will cover a range of applications for hand drawing and sketching and will give an introduction to those just starting out, along with some practical advice and exercises to build your skills and confidence. The session will be led by Rihards Sobols, Urban Designer at LDA Design.
Using Digital Tools to Support Design Analysis: 5 - 6pm 8 September
The session will introduce some experimental technology and show how it can be used to support design and character appraisal. The session will be led by Dr Jon Cooper, Senior Lecturer in UrbanDesign Oxford Brookes University and Director of VueCue.
Regenerating High Streets: 5 - 6pm 6 October
The session will introduce how the High Streets renewal team are taking a design led approach to reimagining the High Streets of the future. We will also be joined by designers from Cardiff based urban design consultancy the Urbanists to learn from their High Street project approach. This session will be led by Cleo Newcombe-Jones and Wendy Maden from Bath & North East Somerset Council, in collaboration with the Urbanists.
Using Illustrator for Graphic Design: 5 - 6pm 20 October
The session will cover top tips for using illustrator for graphic design. The session will be led by Jessica Smith, a Bath based illustrator from Falmouth School of Art, who has recently collaborated with the High Streets team.
Creating a vision and story for regeneration: 5 - 6pm 3 November
This session will explore the importance of context, vision and story at the heart of regeneration. It will be led by Rhodri Samuel, former CEO of the Dartington Hall Trust, who previously led the vision and strategy for regeneration in Bath.
Urban Design Xmas Social: 5-6pm 1 December
A chance for local urban designers and design/planning professionals to meet and discuss their latest projects and ideas.
