Ben Derbyshire, HTA, Past President RIBA
Ben is the author a new book, Home Truths, published earlier this year, which reflects on the foundations for contemporary practice in housing. Successive chapters explain the decline of architects’ influence, extoll the role of planning, defend streets from modernist attack, draw lessons from loved housing, promote a stake for consumers, advocate inclusive design, explain the opportunity of factory production, and demand further and faster progress towards net zero.
Hani Salih, Quality of Life Foundation
The Quality of Life Foundation through its research helps communities and organisations to plan, design, create and care for homes and neighbourhoods in ways that will benefit people’s quality of life in the long term.
Work includes "The Quality of Life Framework" which sets out practical steps to address the changes that can be made across the development industry to ensure that homes are acquired, planned, built and managed to actively provide a better quality of life for everyone.
