The Fifteen Minute City and 20 minute Neighbourhoods are being proposed as a remedy for low density urban sprawl, and a promising approach to community regeneration.
This seminar will explore :
- The evidence on whether these initiatives an effective way to organise urban and social life to improve liveability.
- How to create them…bringing in all the key players and component parts
- The importance of population density, intensity of activity, the physical layout of streets and the proximity of different land uses.
- How to go beyond a housing-retail-consumption model for the 20 minute neighbourhood, to include local production and a sustainable circular economy
- How we can measure their success.
- Whether we need further guidance.
