Climate adaptation are urgent

Floods in the Thames delta, New Orleans, New York and in Bangkok, salt intrusions in Egypt and Bangladesh: these are just examples of rising risks to deltas and delta cities driven by climate change. Action is urgent! Exchanging scientific knowledge, lessons learned and best practices is vital. This will happen at the second International Conference Deltas in Times of Climate Change, 24 - 26 September 2014, Beurs-World Trade Center, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The conference pursues three main goals:

- strengthening international cooperation between deltas and delta cities

Many well known speakers will address the audience at the plenaries, such as:

  • Yolanda Kakabadse (International President WWF)
  • Stéphane Hallegatte (World Bank)
  • Thomas Stocker (University of Bern)
  • Chris Rapley (Chair, London Climate Change Partnership)
