Transport Interchanges

The quality of transport interchanges is an essential component of sustainable transport. Taking as its starting point issue 120 of Urban Design, edited by Sir Peter Hall, the event will look at recent new build and refurbishment projects, considering examples of current best practice.

• John Dales, Director of Urban Movement at Urban Initiatives, on the importance of high quality design in the development of sustainable and well-integrated urban transport schemes
• John McNulty, Head of Interchange at Transport for London, on the challenges of delivery, co-ordination and management encountered on a daily basis at Londons major transport interchanges and the steps being taken to make thembetter places to live, work and travel through.
