Danny Dorling: The Changing Face of Modern Britain

Friday 1 July 2011 - 18:30
The Gallery, 70 Cowcross Street, London EC1M 6EJ at 6.30 pm

Danny Dorling is Professor of Human Geography in the University of Sheffield. His research focuses upon trying to understand and map the changing social, political and medical geographies of Britain - and further afield -concentrating on the ways in which social and spatial inequalities may be related to life chances and how these may be narrowed.

Danny's research tries to show how far understanding the patterns to people's lives can be enhanced using statistics about the population. The substantive side of this concern is with how the fortunes of people living in Britain are distributed and are changing, a subject addressed in his latest book So you think you know about Britain?

Copies of So you think you know about Britain? will be availble to purchase at the event.
