Thomas Looker

Tom has 20 years experience in the built environment, spanning both the public and private sectors. Including more than a decade with a national planning and design practice, he has a breadth of experience in the industry, specialising in master planning and urban design since 2001.

Tom is passionate about placemaking and creating sustainable places for the future.  He brings a thoughtful, considered approach to projects derived from a thorough understanding of context and place.  This ethos pervades his approach to deliver a coherent, robust design rationale derived from best practice.

Tom is comfortable working at a variety of different scales and details, ranging from a handful of dwellings to major urban extensions covering thousands of dwellings; including the preparation of outline, hybrid and detailed planning applications, feasibility layouts, design codes and development frameworks.  The ability to design at different scales and understand the implications of proposals at the macro and micro level ensures that schemes are underpinned by the principles of good urbanism, are deliverable and commercially sound. He is also well versed in preparing, character assessments, design and access statements, vision documents, statements of case, proofs of evidence, and stakeholder consultations.
