Rob Chilton
Rob is part of the Group Urban Design Team at Barratt Redrow. His interest in placemaking developed while studying Architecture, where his research focused on community, street design and social interaction between neighbours; and while working on bespoke housing schemes in a small architectural practice in Winchester.
During his time at Barratt Redrow, Rob has influenced the design and quality of new places by producing best practice guidance on masterplanning, plotting, landscape and inclusive play. He also has a role in shaping the strategic priorities of the business, through the development of a set of industry-leading placemaking principles.
Rob joined a discussion panel at the National Urban Design Conference in 2025, as part of the 'Developers and Urban Design: Bridging the Gap' session.
