Peter Widdrington
I have a background in masterplanning and landscape architecture with over 20 years experience working at multi-disciplinary design consultancies in the south-west, London and internationally. At EDP, I'm responsible for leading our ‘Design Hub’, coordinating a team of landscape designers, masterplanners and graphics professionals and providing design direction and technical review.
I believe that new communities need to be planned first and foremost to ensure that environmental impacts are minimised and that nature and biodiversity are allowed to flourish. Our masterplanning approach at EDP is ecologically focussed and seeks to enhance, restore and create green infrastructure networks into which development can be incorporated sensitively. Working with nature creates places that have a sense of identity, are beautiful and climate resilient, promote health and wellbeing, and ultimately therefore provide commercial value and great places to live.
Prior to my current role I spent three years in New Delhi, India working at AECOM on a diverse range of projects including planning green infrastructure for a 2m. population ‘smart-city’ in Chandigarh; masterplanning both ultra-low-cost and luxury housing developments for TATA; landscape design for resorts, casinos and hotels; and major metro infrastructure and streetscape projects.
