Mark Sheppard
Mark is an urban designer and a Director of Urbis. He has 30 years’ experience in the field of urban design.
Mark specialises in leading large-scale master planning and urban renewal projects for public and private sector clients. He has particular expertise in facilitating and synthesising input from multi-disciplinary teams dealing with complex conditions. Mark is also frequently engaged to review significant development proposals and changes to planning controls.
Mark established David Lock Associates (Australia) in 1998, following four years in DLA’s UK office. DLA Australia was subsequently renamed kinetica and later merged with Urbis. Mark has qualifications in urban design and architecture, is a Fellow of the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association and a member of the Planning Institute of Australia. He is widely published on a range of urban design topics and is regularly invited to give lectures.
Mark has a particular interest in improving the liveability, sustainability and resilience of established urban areas.
