Harriet Haldenby

Harriet is a Senior Urban Designer at Urban Movement, bringing together thinking on movement and place to create streets that do more than simply move traffic.  An advocate for streets as a critical public asset, Harriet’s work focuses on all the ways in which they can help communities to live happier and healthier lives.

Having studied Town Planning and Urban Design at the Universities of Liverpool and Manchester, Harriet began her career in the north of England, working across various towns and cities. Now located in London, Harriet continues to deliver street design projects which balance placemaking and movement across the UK.

Harriet’s experience includes feasibility work, creating the case for change, people-focussed design briefs, co-design and delivery of cycling and walking improvements, including school streets. She develops networks and masterplans with local stakeholders across the UK.  Taking a network-based approach means Harriet has an understanding of the different roles our streets can play, enabling her to maximise their potential.
