Duncan McLean

Duncan is an Urban Designer and Chartered Landscape Architect. He joined LUC in 2001 and became an Associate in 2010. He has led many of LUC’s urban design, masterplanning and public realm design projects and often leads LUC inputs working as part of large multi-disciplinary teams. His key skills include:

  • Public Realm and Streetscape Design
  • Masterplanning & Development Frameworks
  • Green Infrastructure
  • Landscape Design & Environmental Improvements

Duncan is comfortable working at a variety of scales from strategic design studies to detail design and construction. He is thoughtful and thorough in his approach to design producing creative but viable design solutions. He is a talented and experienced designer validated by numerous awards - in 2010 he received the prestigious CIHT / Department for Transport - Manual for Streets Award as lead designer for the Inverness City Centre Streetscape project.

Duncan advocates ‘Placemaking’ and urbanism principles in all aspects of his work.
