This residential masterplan will act as a catalyst for the transformation of a vacant heritage district into a vibrant sustainable community.

Opportunities for the neighbourhood are planned around a series of public spaces that will create a safe walkable neighbourhood within a diverse and rich historical setting. New homes will be multigenerational, sustainable and arranged around newly formed squares, courtyards and green infrastructure for the local communities.

Heritage structures will be rejuvenated, re-adapted and utilised for a variety of uses, to ensure that they form an active role in the future regeneration of the area.

Proposals outline a framework for three residential development sites. These sites will include approximately 12 new residential buildings, the refurbishment and adaptive reuse of heritage structures, new public spaces and social infrastructure over 3.72 hectares of inner-city land.

Building heights will range from two to twelve storeys, potentially delivering up to 550 new homes. The development will be phased over the coming years, creating a significant number of sustainable homes within a new inner-city neighbourhood.

Reddy A+U has been appointed as the architectural design team lead, responsible for preparing designs to guide the next stages of development, including a series of planning applications.
