Project Centre

Activating the town and river - Gainsborough masterplan and public realm strategy

Project Centre are a multi-disciplinary team of urban designers, landscape architects, engineers, transport planners and architects who work across a range of contexts, scales and RIBA stages.

We provide urban design and masterplanning services to local authority clients across the UK.  We work with clients and strive for excellence in placemaking - promoting design excellence, active travel, sustainability, biodiversity and health and well-being - whilst understanding the commercial principles that allow places to flourish.

Our work ranges from: feasibility studies on tight urban sites; to regeneration strategies for town centres and high streets; to large outline masterplans. Our urban design and masterplanning services include:

• Town centre and high street strategies

• Estate regeneration strategies

• Urban design briefs and frameworks

• Feasibility studies

• Design codes, public realm design guides and other design guidance

• Outline and hybrid planning applications

• Design and Access Statements

Our urban design services are often delivered alongside other in-house Project Centre disciplines of: landscape, highways, transport planning, flood and water management, civil engineering, and communications and engagement.

As a company, we are a friendly and client focussed SME, known for our joined-up thinking across multiple services. We have a higher than industry standard representation of women and staff from BAME background amongst our 250 employees. This is reflected in our Urban Design and Landscape Team, where two thirds of our team are women and almost half are from a BAME background. Our senior team are leaders in their field and serve on design review panels, professional groups for urban design and landscape, and award committees.
