Planning Officer (Design and Public Realm)
This is a key post within the City’s Design and Heritage team. You would be part of securing fantastic Public Realm, Urban Design and Conservation outcomes, you would play a key role in shaping the design of buildings and public spaces through handling planning applications within the City. In addition, you would work closely with other departments and teams across the City Corporation to deliver high quality public realm at all stages of development.
We are looking for built environment professionals who are passionate and innovative in their approach to delivering high quality urban design, but are also conversant with the historic environment, have an ability to think holistically, embracing landscape, public realm, and the wider sustainability agenda. With a flair for detail, you would also be able to see the bigger picture, being creative in finding solutions and agile in negotiating development outcomes and delivering results.
