We have an exciting opportunity for a talented urban designer to join our Design team, whose work is national in its reach and collaborative in approach.
Turley create places of quality that deliver development value through the intelligent and expert application of the UK planning system. We work with clients on interesting and compelling projects that deliver better places.
We are a team of 13 Urban Designers working across the UK and Ireland. Our multi-faceted team comprises architects, landscape architects and designers with a planning qualification, giving us a unique and rich blend of skills and backgrounds.
“One of the best things I like about Turley is it curates a culture that is open, driven and goal orientated. This shows itself in the team’s approach to flexible working and work-life balance and continuing to support each other in doing the best we can for the variety of projects we work on. Now having been with Turley for 2 years I feel proud of our mutual growth as a team and feeding into big initiatives such as our approach to inclusion and climate change.”
Neil Harvie
Senior Urban Designer
We seek a highly competent and passionate urban designer who is confident, committed to their own development and at the forefront of professional best practice. You will have experience of contributing to masterplanning projects from inception to completion with particular emphasis on providing great client service and the delivery of high quality products.
The successful candidate will have experience in the production of masterplans and strategic frameworks as well as Design and Access Statements and associated plans for both outline and detailed applications, be highly skilled and creative in their approach, and be confident in how they discuss their ideas through both verbal and written or graphical communication. An understanding of, and experience in, landscape led masterplanning is also desired.
A post-graduate qualification in Urban Design or relevant discipline is desired with solid experience in UK housing and mixed use projects gained in design, architectural and/or planning consultancies. Proficiency in AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft packages will be required with 3D computer modelling and hand drawing skills desirable.
Our projects are wide ranging. Recently we have prepared masterplans for Aston University in Birmingham, a town centre regeneration masterplan for Telford and a new Garden Village in South Ribble. It is an exciting time to join our creative team.
