Urban Design Lead (Deputy Team Leader)

Enfield Council
Enfield, Greater London + Flexible Working
£42,909 - £54,333 - 36 hours a week

It is an exciting time to join the Planning Service at Enfield Council. Enfield holds significant potential for good growth and has an ambitious Council focussed on delivery. As a Planning Service we are energised and passionate about delivering proactive planning to help shape the Borough over the next 15 years and beyond, including helping enable the delivery of thousands of homes. We are now embarking on a new phase of regeneration and placemaking, with the Council taking a confident role in making things happen.

As we progress with our new Local Plan, a number of significant development proposals are lining up to progress through the planning process – some led by the Council, others by private developers - and our multidisciplinary team is helping to get the most out of these projects.

This role is a great opportunity to join an ambitious team of urban designers, architects, and conservation specialists. You will provide proactive design advice as part of Planning Performance Agreements, pre-applications and planning applications and work with colleagues across the Planning Service, Enfield’s Design Review Panel, developers, agents and communities to help deliver positive outcomes for Enfield. You will also be involved in shaping Enfield’s emerging Local Plan, growth strategies, corporate projects and housing delivery.

If you are an experienced design professional, committed to best practice and driving excellence and can contribute positively to the work and culture of a progressive team, then we want to hear from you.
