We have three service areas: Planning Policy, Conservation & Design; Development Management and Building Control & Flood Risk. The Council has parallel services focusing on the delivery of the Bicester Garden Town, a vision for Banbury, economic growth, and strategic transport.
With its growing towns, its location on the Oxford-Cambridge region, its proximity to Oxford on the M40 corridor and its location on major rail lines including East/West rail, Cherwell receives significant investment and development interest. We also have highly attractive rural areas and places to live.

The Job:
Cherwell District Council needs an experienced Urban Designer is required to lead a new Urban Design, Conservation & Environment Team and be Cherwell District Council’s expert on design matters.
The Person:
We are creating a new team which will lead on urban design, built heritage and biodiversity matters to support good place making and environmental enhancement. We need an experienced Urban Designer to lead this team, provide design expertise for the Council and ensure join-up with our Planning Policy and Development Management Teams.
