Our Heritage, Townscape and Landscape team is growing.
Are you a townscape professional looking for a new opportunity in a progressive, employee-owned company?
London Turley are looking to appoint a townscape specialist to join our Heritage, Townscape and Landscape team. We are involved in a diverse range of work and valued by our clients for providing rigorous analysis and well-considered advice at key stages of the design and development process.
We often provide advice in the initial stages of a project, ensuring that landscape and townscape issues are considered from the outset and embedded in the design response. We work on some projects directly for clients and on others alongside other professional services in Turley, including our planning, sustainability, design, economics and strategic communications teams.
The role is a great opportunity for a townscape professional to join a diverse and friendly team of townscape, landscape and heritage professionals at a time when we are developing new fields of work and sharing skills and experience across disciplines.
Working from our London, Manchester and/or Birmingham office you will work on a wide variety of project types across the UK, with prestigious private and public sector clients. The role includes working on a wide range of projects, including: townscape appraisals and feasibility studies; development and design advice (including height and massing studies); urban design strategies to assist with planning applications, townscape and visual impact assessments; and local plan representations; and assisting with townscape evidence at planning appeals.
“Turley has provided me with a great opportunity to further my career and experiences as a professional. The projects I work on are diverse including tall buildings, residential development, and renewable energy schemes creating an interesting variety of work daily; whilst working alongside a friendly, supportive, and experienced team. Alongside the professional benefits of working within the company, Turley also have a strong ethos towards promoting well-being including benefits that incorporate private health care and an annual personal well-being allowance. We also have regular social events which has really helped me to get to know people and integrate with the team.” - Cassandra Wheadon, Associate Director, Landscape & Townscape
