Design Advisor (Maternity Cover)
This is a fantastic opportunity for an early career urban designer to support the wider Ebbsfleet Development Corporation team. Reporting to the Head of Design, you will provide design management services accross Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, promoting and facillitating the delivery of high-quality space and places in Ebbsfleet.
This exciting role will involve researching, enabling, evaluating, monitoring and disseminating best practice design performance within the Ebbsfleet Garden City scheme.
This role will drive excellence in design across Ebbsfleet, working collaboratively with our wider team and external stakeholders to champion high quality design, promoting innovation and inclusion within the built environment. The role will involve providing design advice for planning applications that are referred to the Corporation, you will be responsible for ensuring applications demonstrate high standards of design quality, so you’ll need to demonstrate a good understanding of current design tools, methodologies, and best practice in urban design and landscape architecture, as well as the ability to problem solve and actively contribute ideas within a collaborative team.
What we're looking for:
Degree level education in a built environment design discipline (architecture, landscape architecture or urban design) OR 3 years’ experience in an equivalent role.
A passion for all aspects of urban design and placemaking.
Good understanding of current design tools, methodologies, and best practice in urban design and landscape architecture, as well as the ability to problem solve and actively contribute ideas within a collaborative team.
Excellent graphic and technical communication skills, with a proven expertise in the use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign, and able to generate high quality graphics and illustrations.
Excellent verbal, research and written skills, and able to generate and present professional reports/documents and communicate the principles of design quality effectively.
Effective and confident communicator who can communicate design ideas to a broad range of audiences and is highly motivated to develop and maintain relationships with project teams, design teams, project stakeholders and applicants.
Proven ability to work on your own initiative, with the ability to manage your own time effectively
