Turley are looking to appoint two new Assistant Consultant/Consultant/Senior Consultant to join our other townscape and landscape professionals, and to assist with a wide range of projects including: townscape and landscape appraisals and feasibility studies; development advice on townscape and landscape matters; TVIAs and LVIAs; urban/landscape design strategies to assist with planning applications and local plan representations; and planning appeals. This is an excellent opportunity to join a diverse and friendly team at a time when the team is continuing to grow, developing new fields of work, and sharing skills and experience across disciplines. Working with our Manchester, Birmingham and/or Edinburgh office you will work on a wide variety of project types across the UK, with prestigious private and public sector clients.

At Consultant/Senior Consultant level you should be experienced in townscape and/or landscape analysis and assessment, and/or urban design work, within the planning and development process. You should have detailed knowledge of the built environment and design and planning process with experience in assessment work, including application of the GLVIA methodology. 

As an Assistant Consultant, the role provides an exciting opportunity to launch your career in a supportive team environment. You will have a strong academic record (with degree or post graduate qualification in an urban design, planning, landscape or an architecture related subject as a minimum), an enquiring mind, strong communication skills and commercial awareness. Ideally, you will have familiarity with the planning and development process in England.

You should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and ideally, basic knowledge of using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. Experience of 3D city modelling programmes such as Vu.City (or similar) desirable but not essential. We are open to exceptional applicants from related built environment fields and we would provide in-house mentoring / coaching in the specific requirements of our work.
