Urban Design Group AGM & New Executive Committee 2014-15

The Urban Design Group AGM took place at 6pm on Wednesday 18 June 2014 in The Gallery, 70 Cowcross Street, London EC1M 6EJ

The evening saw Paul Reynolds stand down as Chair of the Urban Design Group, having reached the end of his two year tenure.  Paul was praised for his great commitment and enthusiasm, particularly in continuing to expand the Group's diverse programme of events which are helping to draw in new audiences. He was also thanked for driving through the membership review and the recent restructuring of subscription rates and packages, an essential step in securing the Group's future vitality. The Group is delighted that Paul will continue his work for the UDG, remaining on the Executive Committee for 2014-15.

Paul is succeeded as chair by Katy Neaves, whose nomination for the role was unchallenged. Katy, who is Head of Visual Impact Assessment for Turley, has been a member of the UDG for almost ten years and on the Executive Committee since 2010. During this time she has co-ordinated STREET, the young urban designers' network, and led the Group's work on education. She is also a Recognised Practitioner in Urban Design.

There was one new election to the Executive Committee for 2014-15, namely Matthias Wunderlich of Urban Initiatives Studio (Winner of the 2014 UDG Practice Award).  Existing committee members Philip Cave, Jeremy Hernalesteen, Sebastian Loew, Colin Munsie, Amanda Reynolds Barry Sellers and Alan Stones, as well as Paul Reynolds, were all re-elected. Colin Pullan will continue in the role of UDG Treasurer.

Long-standing committee members Ben van Bruggen and Graham Smith, as well as Andrew Dakin (corresponding member), all agreed to continue their invaluable work for the UDG and will be co-opted to the Committee at its first meeting in July.  Stefan Kruczkowski, elected to the Committee for 2013-14, will also be co-opted, alongside Laura Alvarez both of whom are based in Nottingham and heavily involved with the UDG in the East Midlands.
