National Conference on Urban Design 2014: Call for Abstracts

Abstracts are now invited for the National Conference on Urban Design 2014, taking place in Nottingham on 18-20 September.

The theme for the conference is Urban Design for All and the main aim of the event is to bring together all those interested and involved in shaping the quality of our built environment - no matter their professional background.

The conference will offer an opportunity to share best practice and create a broader professional and personal network; it will explore the value of multi-disciplinary working, including the involvement of communities and wider stakeholders in creating better places to live.

We encourage the submission of abstracts not only from professionals but also those who might not conventionally see themselves as ‘urban designers’ or as playing a role in shaping the built environment. Students are actively encouraged to participate. Abstracts may focus on either research or practice, i.e. case studies, in both good and emerging best practice which will contribute towards better understanding how we might work together to add greater value to our cities, towns and neighbourhoods.

Selected conference papers will be published in a special edition of  Urban Design and on the Urban Design Group website.
