2010 record 30.6 gigatonnes carbon dioxide emssions despite recession signals climate disaster

According to the International Energy Agency, emissions increased by 1.6 gigatonnes on 2009 - a 5 percent rise.   On the basis of past climate forecasts, this would mean around a 50% chance of a rise in global average temperature of more than 4C by 2100
