20 MPH movement claims Manchester

Manchester City Council on 31 January voted unanimously for a motion suppporting the introduction of 20mph speed limits using signs alone.

It joins a rapidly growing number of councils in the UK, than now embrace over 10 percent of the population, including Conservative led Lancashire, Green Brighton, Portsmouth, Warrington, Newcastle upon Tyne and many others.

The Times has also begun calling for 20mph speed limit to be the default speed limit in residential areas where there are no cycle lanes.
