The ‘biggest housing renewal project for a generation’ is the focus of the latest issue of URBAN DESIGN, the relaunched quarterly journal of the Urban Design Group (UDG).

Editor John Billingham has brought together a stimulating range of articles on Housing Market Renewal Area pathfinders in North Staffordshire, the West Midlands, Sheffield, Newcastle and Hull alongside examples of urban designers’ work. Billingham emphasises the crucial role of urban design in taking proposals forward. As he notes: ‘the pathfinder programme is a massive undertaking’.
