Associate Urban Designer/Masterplanner EDP

The EDP Masterplanning team is growing! We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Associate Masterplanner to pursue and develop new growth opportunities, specifically within the Welsh market.

Based in our vibrant Cardiff office, mid-way between the city centre and the Bay, the successful candidate will work with our established masterplanning team in Cirencester to develop EDPs presence in Wales. Our ideal candidate would possess extensive post-qualification experience gained in a design practice working on urban design and masterplanning projects at a variety of scales. You will ideally have worked extensively in Wales and have an established network of contacts with a good knowledge of the local areas and authorities. You will share our desire to create environmentally-responsive and exceptional places and be at the leading edge of professional best practice.

As a masterplanner at EDP you would benefit from working within an environmentally conscious multi-disciplinary company with a culture of openness, trust and enjoyment. EDP is a privately owned company which actively promotes a small-team culture and encourages individual creative flare, based within an inspirational and healthy office environment.

The successful candidate will excel in presentation and negotiation, have first-class computer and graphic skills with the ability to independently deliver all stages of the planning process. You will have an excellent working knowledge of the development industry and experience of residentially-led development at both a strategic masterplanning level through to delivery of detailed layouts. Experience of architectural design and delivery would be an advantage.

At EDP our masterplanning services sit naturally at the centre of our technical disciplines, providing environmentally driven responses to our clients sites – as such you will have the opportunity to develop your understanding of the environment learning directly from the other core disciplines within the company. EDP firmly believes in supporting and developing its team members and considers this role a significant opportunity for someone to assist us in growing our masterplanning presence and to see their own career progress as a result.

The salary for this post is to be agreed based on qualifications and experience and will form part of an excellent benefits package including pension, private health insurance, 30 days annual leave allowance (+ bank holidays), free lunch and profit share bonus scheme.
