Location/Venue:
Bristol

SLR is seeking a talented Urban Designer / Masterplanner to join a busy, expanding team in Bristol to work on a range of high profile schemes and help shape the team’s continued growth

Currently centred around its Bristol office, SLR’s Urban Design team sits alongside a complementary and comprehensive team of Built Environment professionals, and provides a range of services from initial concept design and client advice to promotion of sites through the planning process.

Recent high-profile successes include gaining outline consent for the exemplar Hampden Fields masterplan and landscape design concepts - a garden village scheme of up to 3,000 dwellings and a wide range of other uses. We’re also promoting exciting brownfield and other greenfield sites, and working for a wide range of clients across the Built Environment sector, as well as with the other key sectors serviced by SLR.

Due to continued success, we are seeking an experienced, talented designer to help to continue to deliver this broad range of schemes and projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their career as the business grows, and will suit enthusiastic candidates with a desire to produce quality work alongside an established, motivated and competent team. SLR’s flat management structure means that opportunities for progression are outstanding.

Alongside the current Senior grade position, we are also keen to hear from professionals who would be interested in joining at a more strategic level, and contributing to commercial/business development and help us to continue to grow our client base and workload.

The successful candidate would be involved in a varied workload, from the development of concept plans and design strategies, through to the preparation of Masterplans, Design and Access Statements and Design Codes. The role will involve creativity and interaction with the wider team and other disciplines forming part of the design process, whilst ensuring practicality and wider issues are taken into account.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate:

·         Proven masterplanning and urban design ability and experience.

·         Good written and presentation ability.

·         Experience of engaging with clients and managing inputs into the design process.

·         Team player, with enthusiasm and willingness to learn and contribute towards the success of the business.

·         Relevant built environment qualification.

·         Valid UK Driving Licence.

Along with competitive basic salaries, all of SLR’s staff enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits, including cash car allowance (Senior grade and above), pension, healthcare, life cover, business-class travel insurance and much more. Given SLR’s flat management structure and regular review processes, opportunities for progression are outstanding.
