Principal Urban Designer

£30,750 pro rata per annum

22.5 hours per week - based in Bristol

 

The inspiring challenges of this role include leading thecommunity street design team in creating better places for walking and cycling by being responsible for project management and quality assurance on all the region’s urban design projects and will also involve direct project delivery and street trials as necessary plus supporting business development in the South region.

 

Educated to degree level or equivalent or with a relevant qualification in urban design, landscape architecture or related field, you will have experience of working on design projects with a significant level of community engagement.  With excellent communication, report writing, networking and visual presentation skills, you will have project management experience, line management experience, be IT literate with excellent urban design skills and creativity.  You will have the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships, demonstrable experience in workshop facilitation and knowledge of current guidance and best practice in street design on public highways.  You will also be committed to the ideals of sustainable transport.
