Citydesigner is seeking to recruit an Assistant urban designer or architect. The candidate would ideally have an architectural, planning or heritage conservation qualification and have strong research and presentation skills, and skills in graphics, writing and desk-top publishing. Proactive and flexible, you should be willing to carry out a wide range of tasks to assist a team of 12. Although not essential, any previous experience of working within an enthusiastic team either in private practice or a local authority environment would be an advantage.

Citydesigner is an architecture, townscape and heritage consultancy which advises on development proposals which affect the context of sensitive townscapes, listed buildings, conservation areas, World Heritage Sites and other historic assets. The consultancy has contributed to some prominent development projects in London and the south of England, including Foster and Partners’ 30 St Mary Axe (‘The Gherkin’), Merrill Lynch’s European Headquarters at Newgate Street, and Land Securities’ Nova project, at Victoria. The consultancy’s clients are diverse and range from Britain’s largest development companies, institutions such as the London Estates, US Embassy, RCA, St Pauls Cathedral, Royal Historic Palaces, Vatican Properties, GLA, and Cleveland Clinic through to individual owner occupiers. We also work with some of Britain’s best known and most dynamic architects. Our offices are in London, SW1.
