Call for new Panel Members - Merton Design Review Panel - Merton Council

Location/Venue:
London

The London Borough of Merton has been running a successful in-house Design Review Panel (DRP) since 2007. It has reviewed high profile proposals for the All England Lawn Tennis Club to small infill development, major estate regeneration, development of heritage assets and individual buildings.

Merton is in the process of reviewing its Panel to ensure it meets the high standards set out in the new London Quality Review Charter. Part of this is to ensure the Panel membership reflects a broad range of relevant professions and remains fresh and relevant to current design and development issues. The review and any subsequent changes are planned to take place during 2020.

Ahead of the review outcomes, vacancies have become available for new Panel members, initially for a year, depending on the outcomes of the review. To this end we are now seeking up to five new members to join our Panel. We are particularly seeking expertise in core urban design skills, public realm and highways design, planning, placemaking and masterplanning. We are also seeking to ensure the make up of our panel is as diverse and representative as the community it serves.

If you are interested in becoming a part of design review in Merton, please contact Paul Garrett at paul.garrett@merton.gov.uk or call on 020 8545 3063. You will need to provide a CV and a short statement expressing how you feel your skills are relevant to design review and how you would contribute positively to Merton’s DRP.

Expressions of interest should be received by noon Friday 17 January 2020
