An opportunity has arisen to join the Design Team in the Development Division at the City of London.

The post will involve providing urban design and conservation advice in the management, evaluation and negotiation of a wide range of planning applications for significant development schemes. You will be dealing with a diverse range of development, including high profile, often complex schemes and where necessary expected to formulate and articulate alternative design solutions. The duties will offer opportunities to develop other non-casework initiatives such as policy and guidance formation, 3D modelling and area wide and issue based studies and masterplans.

The post requires a degree or equivalent in Town Planning, Urban Design or Architecture along with proven working experience and membership or eligiblity for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and/or the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) or equivalent experience.

An effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will be IT literate with working knowledge of MS Office Suite  and it would be welcomed if you have a knowledge of wider design software such as Sketch-Up, Illustrator or In-Design.

A commitment to excellent customer services, a flexible approach to work and the ability to work to very strict deadlines are essential qualities for this role.
