Associate Urban Designer - Pegasus

Histon, Cambridge

Pegasus Group is looking for an Associate Urban Designer to join the team to pursue and develop new growth opportunities in the Cambridge area. 

The successful candidate will possess extensive post-qualification experience gained in a design practice working on urban design and masterplanning projects at a variety of scales. You will have established a network of contact with extensive knowledge of the local areas and authorities.  

You will possess first-class computer and graphic skills and excel in presentation and negotiation. You have the ability to independently deliver all stages of the planning and design process, including but not limited to, the preparation and overseeing of conceptual urban design and planning work, feasibility studies, masterplanning, development briefs, design & access statements and design strategies for residential and mixed-use schemes for developers, land owners and private clients. Experience of architectural design and delivery is also desirable.

The key attributes required for this role are as follows:

  • Promoting the profile of Pegasus Design (architecture and urban design)
  • Lead role in preparing design proposals for primarily residential development (our work ranges from barn conversions to 7000 dwellings outline and detailed or RM applications), work might also involve high level masterplanning for commercial/employment schemes
  • Establishing and leading a team of designers
  • Responsibility for invoicing and financial management of that team (in liaison with and supported by Group)
  • Liaising with Executive Directors and other disciplines at Pegasus to promote shared projects and build on the established reputation for design quality
