22.5 hours per week - based in Bristol or Reading

Sustrans is the leading charity in community-led street design and we are looking for a passionate designer to engage schools and neighbourhoods in creating better places for walking and cycling. The exciting challenges of this role include delivering and progressing community-led projects across England South, working with a team of vibrant and motivated engineers and urban designers involved in urban realm improvements, design of walking and cycling routes in urban and rural settings, temporary infrastructure, and delivering community engagement and events.

Educated to degree level or equivalent or with a relevant qualification in urban design, landscape architecture or related field, you will have experience of working on design projects with a significant level of community engagement. With excellent communication, report writing, networking and visual presentation skills, you will be IT literate with a strong administrative background. You will have the ability to maintain productive working relationships and knowledge of current guidance and best practice in street design. You will also be committed to the ideals of sustainable transport.
