Regeneration Stories: how to address the opportunity of Barreiro Portugal

Thursday 28 May 2020 - 17:30 to 19:00
Zoom

How we design our cities today will save lives tomorrow

Barreiro in Portugal, is a place that faced significant decline in industry and then population. Whilst it has many positive attributes - location on the Tagus Estuary, direct ferry link to Lisbon and potentially charming historic fabric - its stalled regeneration to date will now need to also consider additional constraints related to health concerns and the likely economic downturn.

Join us for an introduction to Barreiro and an expert panel discussion followed by audience questions.

Regeneration Stories
Within our ideasSPACE webinars we are starting a new series: 'Regeneration Stories' will focus on specific places where considered approaches could redefine how we attempt to bring new life to our towns and cities. Whilst each place may be different from the contexts we know, the sessions aim to not only introduce new places but also share insights, new thinking in regeneration and foster discussion and debate.

The Urban Design Group is hosting a series of webinars with experts and thought leaders to help formulate the action we need to take now to overcome this crisis and prepare ourselves for the next.

The events are open to all. Participants should also be aware that the webinars will be recorded and made available on our ideasSPACE Youtube playlist
