From subways to skyscrapers how can we better design and navigate dense, multi-level cities? As our cities grow up, out and down, it is time we better understood how the different layers of these complex urban environments relate to one another. How can old infrastructure be repurposed and new places created that optimize the efficient use of land whilst creating people friendly places? In discussion with architects, urban planners and landscape architects, we consider what techniques might be used to improve life in dense, vertical environments.
