ideasSPACE: Regeneration Stories: How to address the opportunity of Barreiro Portugal

Online Event via Zoom
Thu, 28/05/2020 - 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Barreiro in Portugal, is a place that faced significant decline in industry and then population. Whilst it has many positive attributes - location on the Tagus Estuary, direct ferry link to Lisbon and potentially charming historic fabric - its stalled regeneration to date will now need to also consider additional constraints related to health concerns and the likely economic downturn.

Join us for an introduction to Barreiro and an expert panel discussion followed by audience questions.

Hosted by Scott Elliott Adams Urbanist

Sara Machado Founding Director, Stroop Studio

Euan Mills Specialist in Digital Planning

Within our ideasSPACE webinars we are starting a new series - Regeneration Stories. 'Regeneration Stories' will focus on specific places where considered approaches could redefine how we attempt to bring new life to our towns and cities. Whilst each place may be different from the contexts we know, the sessions aim to not only introduce new places but also share insights, new thinking in regeneration and foster discussion and debate.
