In recent years there has been a growing awareness of the importance of nature in our urban environments, and how the creation of linked green infrastructure can underpin a ‘city ecosystem’ that encompasses not only parks and open spaces, but also streets, squares and spaces of all sizes. The Covid lockdown has further emphasised this need, both in terms of having spaces where people can exercise and meet safely and also spaces where people can be at one with nature for our psychological benefit. In the news we have seen images of wildlife coming back in to the city as the streets of CBDs all around the world have emptied of people, but now that people are going back to work how do we continue to maximise biodiversity and bring nature into our urban centres, and what do we need to do to ensure that our towns and cities are resilient and fit for the future as we address the climate crisis?

The Urban Design Group is leading a series of expert discussion to help formulate how we should act now to overcome this crisis, and prepare ourselves for the next.

The events are open to all. Participants should also be aware that the webinars will be recorded and made available on our ideasSPACE playlist on Urban Design Group YouTube channel
