UDG Hamburg Visit - including Hafen & IBA

Thursday 9 April 2015 - 0:00 to Sunday 12 April 2015 - 12:00
Hamburg, Germany

Hamburg is the latest port city to redevelop its docks and create a new district, Hafen City. Though this huge project covering 155 hectares will not be completed until 2025, there is enough on the ground to get an idea of what it will be like. The city has also designated an IBA where a number of projects are either under construction or completed. In addition the Hanseatic city of Hamburg beautifully situated on the Alster is sometimes described as the most English of the German cities and offers interesting examples of business district renewal and of garden suburb.

The study tour is led by Dr Sebastian Loew and will include presentations from local planners involved in the project.
