Urban Design Group Study Tour 2014 - Dresden: Florence on the Elbe

Saturday 10 May 2014 - 9:00 to Sunday 18 May 2014 - 18:00

Dresden has now recovered its full complement of historic monuments, putting it back among Europes first rank of cultural and architectural cities.

We shall also be visiting the porcelain town of Meissen and the unspoilt medieval walled towns of Bautzen and Görlitz. Leipzig also escaped wartime destruction and, though a cultural centre, it has an industrial past exemplified by the massive Baumwollspinnerei, Europes biggest regeneration project. We shall be meeting local planners to hear about how these projects have been carried out.

The price of £900 (£860 for UDG members) includes rail travel from London, travel around the towns by train and eight nights accommodation in tourist class hotels.

Further information can be obtained from Alan Stones, Fullerthorne, Church Street, Kelvedon, Essex CO5 9AH, email a.stones907@btinternet.com , or phone 01376 571351.

The last booking date is Friday 14February 2014.
