Electric Vehicles: Key to clean air or threat to our streets?

This afternoon seminar will examine the impact of Electric Vehicles and EV infrastructure on cities, towns, streets and citizens.

The introduction of electric vehicles will help to cut air pollution and reduce noise levels. But are there costs?

Currently, cities are taking an old-fashioned predict and provide approach, filling pavements with bulky charging points in order to deliver what vehicle owners want. Is this the right approach?

Is it consistent with the Mayor of Londons Transport Strategy to create Healthy Streets that are free of pavement clutter and to dramatically reduce the number of trips made by car?

The seminar willexplore how good infrastructure design can complement safe, welcoming streets and influence drivingbehaviourto reduce the number of vehicles on our roads.
